Josje Hoefsloot

Josje Hoefsloot is a skilled landscape architect and spatial planner. She is able to turn complex landscape assignments into concepts, strategies and designs that solve more than one problem. She prefers to work in an interdisciplinary team of experts and on multiple scale-levels, like the Lower Msimbazi Upgrading Project Feasibility Study in Dar es Salaam. During her BSc and MSc at Wageningen University Josje choose to do extra curriculum courses in International Land&Water management and an Erasmus Exchange to Copenhagen University. After successfully completing her studies in 2017, Josje initiated a follow-up project of her Master thesis in Mozambique, called Nhartanda Verde and took a leading role in the participatory design process. Before coming to VE-R Josje was trained at  H+N+S Landscape Architects as a specialist in water related projects such as Water vision for Izmir, Turkey, Vision for flood protection in ‘S Hertogenbosch and Implementation design of dike enforcement in Tiel from 2017 till 2021. Josje was born in Zimbabwe, which cultivates her interest for African projects. Besides her work at VE-R and DASUDA Josje is a board member of Africa Wood Grow.
